Carthage, IL whrer the CAC is located is the largest town in the county. Carthage is the county seat of Hancock County. The Hancock County CAC is a satellite office of Children's Action Network in Quincy, IL. Hancock County CAC was established to reduce the travel required for the child and family to meet with the Multidisciplinary Team The CAC Coordinator lives in Hamilton, IL which is about 10 miles from the center. The CAC Coordinator participates in local organizations and networks with other agencies in the community. The CAC of Hancock County is located in an isolated private area in the rear of the First Baptist Church. A handprint on the door marks the entrance for the victim and non-offending family. The facility is handicapped accessible. The phyical area used for the CAC is locked and is not part of the church's master key system. Interviews are not conducted at times of church functions. The church allows the CAC access to the church fellowship hall for trainint and other large meetings. Meetings in the hall are not case related. StaffExecutive Director: Clairice Hetzler Children's Advocacy Center Coordinator: Purpose: To set up multidisciplinary interview for child abuse case investigations and maintain contact with the involved parties through process of the case.
